The Graduation Ceremony of Mu'allimaat Muhammadiyah Islamic School of Yogyakarta: Darts of Muhammadiyah, The Society, The Nation, and Humanity Cadre

Yogyakarta- Mualimmat Muhammadiyah Islamic School of Yogyakarta held graduation ceremony to all students of grade 6 on Sunday, June 1, 2014 for the period of 88. In his speech, the Deputy Director, Ustad Atang Solihin, said that in the academic year 2013/2014, Muallimat Muhammadiyah Islamic School of Yogyakarta graduated 160 students who had passed 100 percent in both the national exam and school exam. From all 160 students of Muallimat Islamic School Grade 6 class XII or equivalent with Madrasah Aliyah, there were 83 Science Program (IPA) students, 67 students of Social Sciences (IPS), and also 10 students of Religious programs coming from 21 provinces in Indonesia, and spreading from Sumatra, Borneo, Java, Bali, East Nusa Tenggara to Papua.

 

Furthermore, the Muhammadiyah and 'Aisyiyah handed over the graduated students to their parents bringing hopes that after a coaching and education for 6 years in Muallimat Islamic School, 160 students can be a militant cadres of Muhammadiyah, Aisyiyah, Muslims, and cadre of future leaders in the nation.

 

Mahfud Asrofi S.Ag, Msi, parents of Ihmah Riswanda, which is one of the clever Muhammadiyah Mu'allimaat Islamic School graduate students, in his speech, chose to send her daughter to Mu'allimaat Muhammadiyah Islamic School because he had trouble finding the right school for his daughter regarding to the complexity of the problems of teens today, especially the issue of morality. And it brought him to send his daughter to study in Muallimat Muhammadiyah Islamic School as a place for her daughter to be educated, nurtured, trained, and prepared to become imadul bilad, to lift the role of Muslims in Indonesia. He advised that the girls after being graduated can keep the reputation of the alma mater, and brought many advantages to the society, environment wherever they are.  He emphasized the importance of education to address the challenges, the seriousness and focus on the processes that the students will find success in the future. To the institution, he hoped Mu'alimaat Muhammadiyah Islamic School of Yogyakarta could keep its reputation regarding to the high interest of people to put their children to this educational institutions for girls who pioneered and established by KH Ahmad Dahlan in the 1920s.

 

Dra. Hj. Soimah Kastolani from the Central Executive of Aisyiyah expressed her appreciation to Muallimat Muhammadiyah Islamic School which has provided its best cadres over the years, reliable cadres for Muhammadiyah. He hoped the new graduated students will be able to be useful for the generation of the people, nation, humanity and life in general. Furthermore, Dra.Hj. Soimah Kastolani, who is also the alumni of the Mu'alimmat Muhammadiah Islamic School of Yogyakarta, insisted that the student to be a qalbusalim student to promote the Indonesian generation with science which is based on the faith. To the parents, she hoped the parents could encourage the girls to pursue higher education and beneficial to society.

 

Prof. Dr. H. Yunahar Ilyas, Lc., M.Ag., as the parent of one of the graduated students, also congratulated the Madrasah students who have graduated from Muallimat Muhammadiyah and appreciated the success of 104 new alumni who currently have been accepted at a number of universities, both public and private in a variety of majors with a variety of scientific fields of interest. He also appreciated the results of accreditation of Muallimat Muhammadiyah Islamic School whose value is almost perfect so that it will serve as an example for other school. On behalf of the Central Executive of Muhammadiah, Prof. Yunahar emphasized that the alumni of Mu'allimaat not to make a dichotomy of education. He said that there is no dichotomy between general science or al-ulum al-kauniah and religious knowledge or al-ulum as-sharia because both come from God's knowledge and dichotomy of science will create negative impacts of creating misconception that only those who study religion are steeped in Islam, whereas those who do not study Islam do not have an obligation to explore Islam. As a madrassah alumnus who gets the privilege of directly supervised by PP Muhammadiah, Prof. Yunahar Mu'allimaat hoped that the alumni can be active in Aisyiyah, became the cadres' Aisyiyah from branch level and even someday Mu'allimaat Islamic School graduates could seat in the management of the Central Executive of 'Aisyiyah. * AR
