Surakarta – Figuring Indonesia in a bigger sketch, in a vaster lens, so that we will not see Indonesia with its various aspects through only one point of view, moreover through shallow point of view, because there are diversities when we see Indonesia in its big picture with bigger perspective, if it was compared to one sketch. Moreover in the nuance of national politics, we face definite political choices, which are full of its political interest, more specifically short-term interests. It was stated by the Chairman of Muhammadiyah Central Executive, Haedar Nashir, when he presented the main content of Indonesia Berkemajuan Rekonstruksi Kehidupan Kebangsaan yang Bermakna in a Seminar on Indonesia Berkemajuan, Rekonstruksi Kebangsaan yang Bermakna dan Maklumat Kebangsaan, which was held in Tanwir ‘Aisyiyah, Gedung Batari, Surakarta, on Friday (6/6).
“For Muhammadiyah, seeing through the bigger picture is very important, because Muhammadiyah or Aisyiyah is a Islamic movement, which are a century old, of course have our own history, and we also have relatively well-established point of view and position, tested in various political and national situations in the dynamics of history,” Haedar said.
How they see the problems in bigger picture, in detail and substantively, are parallel to Islam as the teaching we believe and profess. “The concept of developed Islamic society of course has to have religious values as the developing source. Indonesia in the future has to be overwhelmed with development-pro religious values, and only ‘Aisyiyah and Muhammadiyah have the opportunity and capacity to do so,” Haedar stated.
Haedar added that the actualization of religious values had to be realized in the social institutions, which are well-established in developed Islamic societies. “Aisyiyah has Qoriyah Toyyibah, Keluarga Sakinah. Muhammadiyah has movement on jamaah dakwah jamaah. However, the actualization will need the pro-movement leader, not on the bureaucracy,” he concluded. (dzar)
