The Developing Islam has been Existed in the Concepts of KH Ahmad Dahlan

Bantul – The developing Islam which has been formulated by Muhammadiyah and becomes a referential thought of two candidates running for the current Presidential election was included in the concept of the founder of Muhammadiyah Kyai Haji Ahmad Dahlan a hundred years ago.

It was delivered by the Chairman of Muhammadiyah Din Syamsuddin in the opening of Ramadan held by Muhammadiyah Cadre Education Council under the theme of Enlightenment Propagation towards the Developing Indonesia in AR Fakhruddin B Building, Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta on Tuesday (1/6). Din asserted that Ahmad Dahlan said the developing Islam in Javanese, "Although it was not exactly said the developing Islam, but in Javanese, it means Islam with space and time dimension," he explained. Furthermore, Din said that Bung Karno in 1924 in the book of “Under the Flag of the Revolution” had also expressed the development of Islam after independence was the developing Islam. The developing Islamic formulated by Muhammadiyah, according to Din, is very important because it is in line with the ideology of the Indonesia enshrined in the preamble of the Constitution of 1945, the nation which is independent, sovereign, righteous and prosperous. "And now we indicate the development of Indonesia is far from the aims of our Founding Fathers," he said.

Din added the reality of the life of the nation is still far from Indonesian objectives and there are stagnation and rigidity in Indonesian policy direction. "Indonesia is uprooted from national aims; we are witnessing now another Indonesia which is far from our founding fathers’ view. That brings Muhammadiyah to take part in straightening our nation direction," said Din who is also chairman of the MUI. Furthermore, Din asserted there was an active dynamic correlation between the developing Islam and the developing Indonesia. "Developing Indonesia is a manifestation of developing Islam, therefore it is not wrong if Muhammadiyah gives contribution through its thoughts for the sake of the more advanced Indonesia," he concluded.
