Boyolali-Lembaga Zakat Infaq dan Sadaqah Muhammadiyah (LAZISMU) cooperated with ExtraJoss of PT Bintang Toedjoe did sacrificial ritual of Qurban to celebrate Idul Adha that was done on Sunday (10/5) or 11 Dzulhijjah 1435 H in Desa Jrakah, Kecamatan Selo, Kabupaten Boyolali.

According to the LAZISMU Area Manager of Yogyakarta-Jawa Tengah, Sigit Nugroho, the decision to do the qurban in Desa Jrakah, Kabupaten Boyolali was due to the lack number of sacrificial meat given to people in need in that area. “The area of (desa) Jrakah is chosen because there is still small number of meat given to the residents, on the other hand, we also want to raise the awareness and the spirit of celebrating qurban in the neighboring area,” he explained. Sigit added that despite the number of people in need, the low awareness of the people to do qurban and share the meat to the people in that area were also the factor of the low number of animals being sacrificed.

On the other hand, Cosmas Era Hernadi, ExtraJoss Area Manager of Yogyakarta area also stated that ExtraJoss had committed to always benefit people by doing the programs such as Qurban 1 Miliar, which was spread in forty checkpoints in Indonesia. For Desa Jrakah, ExtraJoss according to Cosmas gave one Limosin cow, which was directly given to LAZISMU as the distribution partner and the Takmir Masjid Jami’ Al Makmur as the sacrificial place. The numbers of sacrificed animals on that occasion were two cows and fifteen goats that came from ExtraJoss, Lazismu, and the people. The animals  would be given to five hundred families that were spread in two villages. (mac)
