Yogyakarta – To celebrate the 54th Anniversary, Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) would celebrate it with various events. Family Gathering, one of them, was held in TitikNol Kilometer Malioboro, Yogyakarta on Sunday (10/19).
The opening event of this chain of events of pre-UAD anniversary was Mass Aerobic event held at 06.00 a.m. The attendees for this event were the faculty members of UAD, the students, the lecturers, the administrative staffs, and the people of Yogyakarta residing the surrounding area of TitikNol Kilometer.
Besides mass aerobic event, there were some other events such as mass herbal medicine drinking, massage service by Ikatan Tuna Netra Muslim (ITMI), some competition on kid’s games, doorprize giveaway, and flying balloons to mark the start of UAD Anniversary event.
The rector of UAD, Kasiyarno, stated that drinking herbal medicine was an obligatory act. This was done because herbal medicine was a product of Javanese culture. Beside that point, herbal medicine had positive effect on our bodies. “As we all know, herbal medicine is already popular since a long time ago. Although modern medical practice had developed considerably, we should never forget that herbal medicine is also important for our body, its substances were made of herbs and it’s natural,” he said in the event.
The event that finished at 10.00 a.m. was also enlivened by the attendance of HaryadiSuyuti as the Mayor of Yogyakarta. “Happy 54th anniversary for UAD. I wish you the success. I am grateful towards UAD for educating our young generations into people who have good character and will be able to give something valuable for our beloved country, Indonesia,” he stated. (MCH)
