Denpasar – The competition between the chairman candidates of the Muhammadiyah Central Executive of Youth Organization tightened up closing to MuktamarPemudaMuhammadiyah that would be held in Padang, West Sumatra on November 19 to November 23. Some names were already mentioned and they held roadshow to some regions asking for support. The candidates of General Chairman competed against their concepts, vision, mission, and political promises through debates held by Muhammadiyah Provincial Executive of Youth Organization of Bali on Sunday (11/9).
The Chairman of Muhammadiyah Provincial Executive of Youth Organization of Bali, SubroMulissyi, explained that the debate of chairman candidates was held as the initiative of youth organization of provincial executive to introduce the candidates to all Muhammdiyah young cadres in Bali.
Lizi stated that there were actually seven candidates from the selection process. “All seven candidates, four from the central executive authorities and three from provincial executive will present their concept and compete to win the leader position in Muhammadiyah Youth Organization. Who are they?” he said.
He continued that three of the seven candidates of PemudaMuhammadiyahran for General Chairman position of Central Executive of Muhammadiyah Youth Organization would do open debate in Denpasar. They were the two authorities of Muhammadiyah Central Executive, Amiruddin, Mohammad Azis, and the Chairman of Provincial Executive of Muhammadiyah Youth Organization of DKI Jakarta, SyahrulHasan.
The debate took the theme of “Membongkarvisi, misi, wawasan, idiologi, paham agama danIntegritas Kader” would be held in RM. Wong Solo Renon Denpasar. The open dialog would be attended by the candidate of Bupati of Kab. Badung I GustiKetutPuriArtha and the candidate of Vice Mayor of Denpasar I NyomanGedeAntaguna. The participants included the Muhammadiyah Provincial Executive of Bali, and PD PM in Bali.
The Chairman of Muhammadiyah Provincial Executive of Bali hoped that the future General Chairman of Muhammadiyah Youth Organization would be a person who had strong commitment with Islamic ideology, had the vision to nationalism and patriotism, had strong youth spirit, and had international network.
It was also as important of not making Muhammadiyah Youth Organization as a stepping stone for his personal political interest. “In the current dynamics happening within Muhammadiyah Youth Organization, we need a commitment from the leader, who does not only serve his personal ambition and desire. We need a leader with sincere and wholehearted commitment for the organization,” he concluded. (dzar)
