Jakarta – To celebrate the 59th anniversary of Muhammadiyah University of Jakarta on November 18, 2014, the Graduate School of UMJ held International Multidisciplinary Conference 2014 (IMC 2014), which would be held in November 12-13, 2014 on GedungSekolahPascasarjana UMJ lt. 3 Jl. K.H. Ahmad Dahlan, Cirendeu, CiputatTimur, Tangerang Selatan.
AdiFahrudin as the chief committee explained that International Multidisciplinary Conference 2014 took the theme of “Asean Economic Community: Transformation, Policy, Partnership and Action toward Regional Prosperity.” This event was attended by many academicians and practitioners from around the world such as Malaysia, Philippines, Korea, Taiwan, Turkey, Denmark, Kirgizstan, Australia,and Indonesia.
“ASEAN Economic Community became the main theme of the seminar because in less than one year from now, the ASEAN community would enter open challenge and new hope through ASEAN Economic Community 2015 (MasyarakatEkonomi ASEAN/MEA),” explained AdiFahrudin who was also the Professor of UMJ on Social Work (PekerjaanSosial).
He thought ASEAN Economic Community did not only open the free trade area of goods, service, and investment but also professional labor market, so that the condition would need further study to be examined through interdisciplinary studies by focusing on the aspects of transformation, policies, partnership, and action on the national and regional prosperity.
AdiFahrudin stated that the event would be opened by the Rector of Muhammadiyah University of Jakarta, MasyitohChusnan. Din Syamsudin (the General Chairman of Muhammadiyah Central Executive and the Chairman of MUI) would attend the event as the keynote speaker, and he would present a speech on “ASEAN Economic Community: Tantangan Indonesia danKontribusiPergerakanMuhammadiyah”.
Furthermore, Mochtan(Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for Community and Corporate Affairs), Datuk Dr. Yahaya Bin Ibrahim (Vice Consellor – University Sultan ZainalAbidin, Malaysia), and Choi Won-Gyu, MSW (Vice-President for Student Affair, Chonbuk National University, Chonju, South Korea) would also attend the event as the keynote speakers.
AdiFahrudin added that International Multidisciplinary Conference 2014 would become a platform for knowledge and experience sharing in various disciplinary in order to improve the regional cooperation so that the presence of ASEAN Economic Community 2015 would truly benefits for the preparedness and creativity to achieve Indonesian people’s development and prosperity, and humans in general.
