Yogyakarta-Din Syamsuddin, the chairman of Muhammadiyah, appeared to act with Yati Pesek, senior artists, up with some officials as Regent of Sleman, Vice Regent of South Mountain, as well as Chairman of Red Cross of Indonesia in Yogyakarta (PMI DIY), and also Rector of the University of Ahmad Dahlan to portray a character named Ki Ajar in a Javanese play of art (Ketoprak).
In the play which took place in the Concert Hall of the Yogyakarta Cultural Park (Taman Budaya Yogyakarta), Din Syamsuddin recalled the importance of the role of culture in the da’wah of Islam in Indonesia.The art depended on who was diving and what the meanings. Even in the art at the time of Wali Sanga as Sunan Giri to Sunan Kalijaga explored the art for greatness. Ketoprak held was the result of a hard work of the Regional Executive of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta City who worked with several artists involving Muhammadiyah high school students as well as students at the University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. With the play entitled “Jumedhuling Ora Tau Owah”, Din hoped Muhammadiyah could performed a maximum working on arts and culture as a medium of da’wah and syiar.
