Banjarnegara Regent Appreciated Muhammadiyah Recovery Program

Banjarnegara – Natural disaster of landslide and moving soil occurred in some spots in Kabupaten Banjarnegara did not only make the victims became refugees and lost their homes, but also to the raise of unemployment due to job loss and psychological side effect they had to endure. Therefore, the Disaster Administration Institution (Lembaga Penanggulangan Bencana/LPB) and PDM Banjarnegara would hold an integrated assisting program for the refugees starting from finishing the steps of emergency response, child assistance, adult assistance, economic empowerment, logistic distribution, health (physical) assistance, and spiritual assistance for Muslims. The program would be conducted in three months term starting from January to March 2015.

Related to the assisting activity, on Tuesday, January 20, 2015, the team from LPB PP Muhammadiyah and PDM Banjarnegara did some hearings in the home office of the Regent of Banjarnegara, Sutedjo Slamet Utomo. In the hearing, the Regent of Banjarnegara stated that he happily welcomed and appreciated the recovery program that was established and would be run by LPB Muhammadiyah. One of the programs that the Regent specifically supported was the society’s economic empowerment program.

“With the program of community empowerment, it is hoped that the citizens who were the victim of landslide could live independently when they move to permanent housings,” said Riza Azyumarridha, the team of LPB PP Muhammadiyah.

“It is hoped that in the future, there will be good communication between LPB Muhammadiyah and the government, so that the existing program will always be in good sync and do not overlap,” explained Sutedjo. (mona)
