General Chairman of Muhammadiyah Central Executive Opened Post-Graduate Building UMSU

Medan – New campus building for teaching and learning activities for post-graduate students of UMSU located in JalanDenai, Medan, was officially opened for operation by the General Chairman of Muhammadiyah Central Executive, Din Syamsuddin, on Thursday (01/29).

The building, which was built since 2013, was equipped with lift, mini bank, cafeteria, meeting room, library, multipurpose room, laboratories, and other supporting facilities for operational purpose. Whereas, the other floors of the seven stories building would be utilized as classrooms, lecturers’ room, director room, and offices for other UMSU faculty members.

The signing of the inscription by the General Chairman of Muhammadiyah Central Executive symbolizing the official opening of the new post-graduate building of UMSU located in Medan Denai was a form of effort by the university to improve their performance and education quality for the students.

In his opening speech, Din complimented UMSU as they developed rapidly with the number of students reaching to 20,000 of people and it became one of the biggest Muhammadiyah universities in Indonesia. He hoped that in the future, UMSU would be able to become a university that generated useful innovation through research projects, which could be beneficial for people, and supported the development of knowledge and technology.

“In number, UMSU has become one of the biggest Muhammadiyah universities in Indonesia, and in the future I hope UMSU will focus more on the improvement of its graduate quality and will be able to create innovations in the knowledge and technology field so that it would be beneficial for people in general,” he said.

Today, UMSU Post-graduate faculty had educated close to 900 of students in five different fields; they are Magister of Law, Magister of Communication Science, Magister of Management, Magister of Accountancy, and Magister of Notarial, which previously took place in Campus 1 of UMSU, conjoined with the building for Faculty of Medicine.
