Yogyakarta - Saturday (17/08/2011) at Campus Auditorium I all lecturers and employees of the University of Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) attended Syawwalan that was also participated by Prof. Dr. H.M. Amien Rais, M.A. also as speaker.
"As a man who is religious should we restore all things mentioned in our guidelines handed down by Allah, i.e. the Qur'an. At the present time many people think they are better than another or one group is considered better than others. We fight against heresy (bid’ah), but sometimes we do not understand the meaning of innovation itself. Others doing excessive thing are considered heretic that actually we could have been included of heresy as well by examining only a small portion of the guide by reducing the practices. Heresy is meant as adding or diminishing what have been established by God and the Prophet Muhammad. So, if we just stay quiet thus we are reducing and it is the same as heresy. So let us introspect ourselves", said Prof. Amien Rais with relax but still serious.
The Syawwalan which was also the embark event of prospective pilgrims of UAD 2010 was held with great fanfare. "It is expected that the colleagues who are going to perform hajj pilgrimage can be Makbul and Mabrur and be better in the future as well," said Drs. Kasiyarno, M. Hum. in his speech.
Prof. Dr. H.M. Amien Rais, M.A. as the Central Advisory Council (MPP) of the National Mandate Party (PAN) added that pilgrimage was also no-faction groups. If after pilgrimage we could be better than the previous, by Allah willing our hajj was accepted or Mabrur. Yet, if we remained just same as before then our hajj pilgrimage was static, meanwhile if after the Hajj we became worse than before, our hajj pilgrimage was not accepted. It depended on us.
