‘Aisyiyah Held Jalan Sehat TB Day 2015

Jakarta – The General Chairman of ‘Aisyiyah Central Executive, Dra. Hj. Siti Noordjannah Djohantini, MM., M.Si attended the event of Jalan Sehat from Taman Menteng Jakarta Pusat to Bundaran Hotel Indonesia on Sunday, April 12, 2015. The celebration of TB Day 2015 that was focused at Taman Menteng Jakarta Pusat was a part of the chain event for Syiar Muktamar ‘Aisyiyah that would be held in Makassar on August 2015.

The event was attended by the Ministry of Health Affairs of Indonesia, Prof. dr. Nilla Djuwita F. Moeloek, Sp.M(K) and was participated by 1000 of cadres and sympathizers of ‘Aisyiyah and the working of partners of ‘Aisyiyah, in celebrating TB Day 2015 that was held along with campaign movement of Gerakan Ketuk Pintu to support Indonesia being free from Tuberculosis.

In her opening speech, the General Chairman of PP ‘Aisyiyah mentioned that “In order to overcome this there is no other effort that could be done except that all people work together in the prevention of TB. Therefore, so that people’s effort will be more fruitful, partnership and collaboration is needed, between social organization and with the government,”

“To prevent the transmission and death caused by TB, we should not only stand still. We need to do some concrete efforts that will reach everyone with TB so that they will get proper health care and educate their surrounding environment to cut the chain of transmission,” said Siti Noordjanah further.

 In the declaration event, they also held exhibition, free medical checkup, drawing/coloring activity for children, healthy exercise, and happening art.

Within ‘Aisyiyah, Gerakan Ketuk Pintu would be held in 12 provinces and 45 regencies and more than 119 locations. The regions that would be involved in the event were North Sumatera (2 regencies/cities), South Sumatera (2 regencies/cities), Lampung (6 regencies/cities), Banten (1 city), DKI (5 administrative cities), West Java (4 regencies/cities), Central Java (6 regencies/cities), East Java (7 regencies/cities), South Sulawesi (6 regencies/cities), North Sulawesi (4 regencies/cities), Papua (2 regencies/cities), West Papua (2 regencies/cities).

‘Aisyiyah’s involvement in TB prevention of course was inseparable to ‘Aisyiyah’s contribution in health sector. ‘Aisyiyah also done the treatment of TB through clinics and hospitals that were established and constructed by this female organization of Muhammadiyah. #AR
