Makassar - Chairman of Muhammadiyah Regional Executive of South Sulawesi, Drs.KH.Alwi Uddin, M. Ag closed the Integrated working meeting, the Councils, Institutions, Ortom and Muhammadiyah officials of South Sulawesi at Unismuh campus, Makassar, on Sunday (25/09/2011). The forum also successfully produced strategic agenda that included, political strategy for Muhammadiyah members ahead of Provincial Election and district/city, the economic development of Muhammadiyah members to establish economic centers in agriculture, and development of education-based education and entrepreneurship scholars and the development of community-based programs for all programs.
Attending at the closing particularly vice-chairman HM.Syaiful Saleh, KH Iskandar Tompo, HM.Yunus Kadir as well as a number of other officials and envoys from Muhammadiyah South Sulawesi, HM.Yunus Kadir as vice chairman of Muhammadiyah said that South Sulawesi, in charge of development in South Sulawesi, Muhammadiyah would provide support to the government in empowering the people of sector-based economy, particularly in support of food movement on agriculture, fisheries, and livestock, so that through the existing decision, South Sulawesi would be the strength of the economy for Eastern Indonesia.
Furthermore, according to Yunus Kadir, Muhammadiyah, which owns the infrastructure of the region from the top to the root, of course becomes a big force in supporting the program. "Muhammadiyah as a missionary movement enjoining good deed and against the wrong doing should be able to act professionally in the sector of the economy, it is possible because of Muhmmadiyah charitable efforts in education, economy, and health have been established since a long time, the three charitable efforts, of course, must be managed professionally so that the community will be good consumers," he explained. Ir.H. Darwis Lantik, chairman of the executive committee, reported that the event was attended by 800 participants over South Sulawesi, and the event lasted successfully without any help from the government budget but pure Muhammadiyah South Sulawesi.
