Rektor UMS: Muhammadiyah Perlu Merumuskan Peta Jalan Internasionalisasi Gerakan

Surakarta– Muhammadiyah was colorless in mazhabi, but it had a color in the noble and universal values. It was announced by Bambang Setiadji, the Rector of University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta, at the Opening of Seminar of the Pre-Conference Muhammadiyah Seminar in Djazman Hall of University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta, Tuesday (14/4).

The characteristics, said Bambang, make the shape of Muhammadiyah internationalization different. He described the presence of HTI, the Ahmadiyya, the Ikhwanul Muslim, the Jamaah Tabligh, and other international movements. As a modern Islamic movement that did not have mazhab, Muhammadiyah energy was endlessly flowing, looking, discoursing, even acting in international relations politically, economically, and culturally.

Accordingto Bambang Setiaji, Muhammadiyah still had a certain standing position, to foreign capital that could potentially harm the people of Indonesia. "Muhammadiyah is the most active organization in explaining and sueing foreign power capital, especially in the environmental damage, or having less fair agreement scheme.

He stated thatMuhammadiyah Internationalization began when Kiai Ahmad Dahlan went to hajj and left to study inMecca and Medina. He brought a new outlook on Islam and advance.

Pre-Conference Seminar of 47th Muhammadiyah Congress at University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta was filled with 3 sessions. First, the role and contribution of Muhammadiyah in the International World; Historical Notes, presented by Azyumardi Azra and Bakhtiar Effendi (UIN Jakarta).Second, to formulate future patterns and concepts  of Muhammadiyah Internationalization and to formulate the road map of Internationalization Muhammadiyah, presented by the Rector of University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta , Hilman Latif (St. Louis), and Ahmad Najib Burhani. The third was finding the superior material aspects of internationalization Muhammadiyah movement, presented by Syafiq Mughni (Chairman of Muhammadiyah Central Executive), Dahlan Rais (Chairman of Muhammadiyah Central Executive), and Abdul Mu'ti (Secretary of Muhammadiyah Central Executive). # (dzar)
