Temanggung – Ahmad Zaenuri (20), student of UIN Sunan Kalijaga who was pronounced missing in the mountain climbing at Gunung Sindoro, Kabupaten Temanggung, Central was finally found by the team of Search and Rescue Unit (SRU) Muhammadiyah Disaster and Management Center (MDMC) on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 11.45 Indonesia Local Team. SRU MDMC Team was involved in the search since April 3, 2015, or right after the victim was pronounced missing.
According to the Head of MDMC of Central Java, Naibul Umam, initially the searching was done along with Basarnas, but after a week Basarnas withdrew their team and the team of SRU MDMC continued their search by maintaining coordination with Basarnas, as a form of commitment to the request from victim’s family who was a part of Muhammadiyah Youths and Kokam Jatinom, Klaten. “At first, the search operation was done with a pattern of one day climbing and we went back to the low ground, then it changed to establishing a post in the mountain. Everyday we dispatched two SRU teams, consisting seven to twelve persons, with logistic and communication support,” he explained on Thursday (04/16).
Even though there were some obstacles in weather and steep climbing route, finally on April 15, 2015, approximately as 11.45 Indonesian Local Time, the leader of SRU Team 2, Yocki Asmoro, who explored Balesari route finally found the victim. The discovery location was underneath Curug Watu Lawang on coordination 7°18'00.2" LS 110°00'53"BT, which was near to the river in the chasm within two to three kilometers from the summit of Gunung Sindoro. The discovery location, according to Umam, gave difficulties to the team to evacuate the victim because the chasm was 30m deep and the fog started to appear. The victim’s condition when he was found was still intact with small wounds in his face.
Meanwhile, according to Nanang Nur Aziz Romdloni, the Field Coordinator of SDM MDMC of Central Java explained that Evacuation Team of MDMC departed from the DU MDMC Yososari Reco post at 12.30 Indonesian Local Time along with the people of Desa Mranggen Kidul, then followed by the identification team of Polres at 15.30 Indonesian Local Time. At 16.20 WIB, Rhinoceros Team (Tim Badak) of RGC MDMC/Kokam Wonosobo went after them to the location, followed by the collective team of Grasindo post at 16.30 WIB. The victim started to be identified at 17.00 WIB, then he was put into the body bag to be carried with ambulance to Rumah Sakit PKU Muhammadiyah Temanggung at 18.05 WIB. The body of Ahmad Zaenuri had been given from PDM Klaten by Bpk H. Iskak Sulistyo to the family, to be laid to rest on Thursday, April 16 at 10.00 WIB at Dusun Kauman, Desa Jemawan, Kecamatan Jatinom, Klaten.
Furthermore, according to Nanang, there were some parties involved in the search and evacuation of the victim; among them were Basarnas, Wapeala UNDIP, UPL Unsoed, Mapsa UMP, Mapasuri UMP Purworejo, Malimpa, DU Team of Kendal and Temanggung, and especially in the evacuation phase were the people of Mranggen Kidul, identification team of Polres Temanggung, Sekber DIY, Grasindo, SAR Linmas.
