Yogyakarta – Muhammadiyah organization again lost one of its best cadres, Ir. HM. Dasron Hamid M.Sc who passed away at RS PKU Muhammadiyah 2 Gamping, Sleman, on Friday (04/24) at 19.05 Indonesian Local Time (WIB). Dasron Hamid who was currently serving as BadanPengurusHarian UMY followed the death of his deceased wife, DwiNurhayati, who passed away in the beginning of the year.
The body was initially brought to Masjid GedheKauman for salat al-janazat (prayer for the deceased) after Dhuhur prayer. The General Chairman of Muhammadiyah Central Executive, Din Syamsuddin, in his speech at Masjid Gedhe stated that Almarhum (the deceased) was an active person and dedicated his life for not only the organization, but the public in general, because it was recorded that the deceased was active in sport organization in DIY region. “He (Dasron Hamid) was a hard worker and had a lot of friends, so a lot of people mourned his passing,” he explained. It was also recorded that Dasron Hamid ever served as the General Treasurer of Muhammadiyah Central Executive and also served as the Chairman of PSIM Yogyakarta on 1981 to 1996. Currently, Dasron Hamid still became the support of the organization to succeed the 47thMuhammadiyah and ‘AisyiyahMuktamar that would be held in Makassar on August, by serving as the General Chairman of Central Committee of MuktamarMuhammadiyah.
After the body was brought to Masjid GedheKauman, it would be brought to the funeral home, and it would be rested in the family cemetery at PrengganKotagede, Yogyakarta. There were thousands of mourners who came to Masjid GedheKauman to say their last goodbye to the man who was known for his firm demeanor. The Minister of Education and Culture of Indonesia, AniesBaswedan, also came to the family cemetery of PregganKotagedhe to wait for the arrival of the body to be laid to rest. (mac)
