-General Chairman’s Three Days Work Visit to East Java

East Java – From 20 to 23 of April 2015, the General Chairman of Muhammadiyah Central Executive (PimpinanPusatMuhammadiyah/PP Muhammadiyah) was in East Java for work visit to four Muhammadiyah Regional Executives. Besides presenting a talk in a workshop, Din also inaugurated Amal Usaha Muhammadiyah and did Panen Raya (Great Harvest) before heading to Yogyakarta and continued his travel to Rome, Italy.

On April 21, the General Chairman of PP Muhammadiyah was elected as the key speaker on a national workshop held by KapoldaJatim. The workshop that took the theme of “Bagaimanamenghadapiradikalisme” (how to overcome radicalism) was attended by 3000 participants including Regent, Mayor, District leader, Village Leader/Lurah, the officials of Polres and TNI in East Java. The event was held at Auditorium Unair was attended by the Governor of East Java, PangdamBrawijaya, and KapoldaJatim.

The next day, after having Subuh prayer with the group of PWM East Java, Din Syamsuddin departed to Ngawi to inaugurate GedungDakwahMuhammadiyahNgawi. And in the noon, they continued their religious travel to Jombang to inaugurate a building located near RS PKU Jombang. From Jombang, Din and his group left for Blitar to take some rest.

The next day, Din Syamsuddin attended the inauguration of Gedung KH Ahmad Dahlan near to RSU (Muhammadiyah) AminahBlitar. From Blitar, Din and his group left for Sidoarjo for Panen Raya that was held by MPM (MajelisPemberdayaanMasyarakat).

“We should always be tahaddutsbinni’mah, which is renewing the spirit of doing charitable deeds, improving the quality of enlightening da’wah. Today should be better than yesterday, and tomorrow should be better than today,” Din stated.

Especially in PanenRaya in Sidoarjo, Din expressed his appreciation towards the Council of Society Empowerment (MajelisPemberdayaanMasyarakat/MPM) and Lazismu for all their efforts in supported Jihad KedaulatanPangan through giving supervision towards farmers, fishermen, and labors.

“They are mustadhafin who were not benefited from the construction process,” affirmed Din.

In the same occasion, Din did a duet stage with the Regent of Sidoarjo and had a discussion with the representative of the farmers.

From East Java, General Chairman Din Syamsuddin continued his travel to Yogyakarta to open the International Conference on Islamic Finance and Pre-Muktamar Seminar, both were held in UniversitasMuhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY). On the same day, Din Syamsuddin made time for the funeral of AlmarhumDasron Hamid, an important public figure of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta who was known as the founder of UniversitasMuhammadiyah Yogyakarta. In the night of April 25, Din Syamsuddin departed to Rome to attend a Meeting of the World Religious Public Figures (Pertemuan Para Tokoh Agama Dunia) in Vatican on Environment and Climate Change.
