Yogyakarta – One of the challenges faced by the modern religious and social movement was how to formulate the proper strategy and model of its movement. The same thing also happened to Muhammadiyah. The discussion on the strategy and model of its movement became a highly popular topic and it was re-discussed before the 47^th Muhammadiyah Muktamar.

Understanding the significance of the discussion regarding the strategy and model of Muhammadiyah movement, PP Muhammadiyah and Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto would hold a Pre-47 Muktamar Seminar on May 9^th, 2015, with the theme of “Strategi dan Model Gerakan Sosial Baru: Inspirasi Muhammadiyah Menuju Dunia Berkemajuan.”

 The seminar that would be held at UM Purwokerto would be divided into three sessions. The first session would talk about the Map and Trend of Today Social Movement (Peta dan Tren Gerakan Sosial Masa Kini). The second session would discuss about the Role and Existence of Muhammadiyah in the Middle of Today Social Movement (Peran dan Eksistensi Muhammadiyah di Tengah Arus Gerakan Sosial Baru). And the third session would be about the Model and Strategy of Muhammadiyah’s New Social Movement (Model dan Strategi Gerakan Sosial Baru Muhammadiyah).

“The seminar is held to acquire thoughts, ideas, strategies, and models for our new social movement. A proposal will be highly important and beneficial for Muhammadiyah to ensure its identity as the Islamic social movement that gives its colors in global development,” explained Ahmad Syauqi Soeratno of the Muktamar Central Committee on Friday (05/09).
