Jakarta – The geopolitical-economic challenges in Indonesia became the attention of Muhammadiyah. Related to this, Muhammadiyah was expected to give its contribution.
Pre-Conference Seminar organized by Muhammadiyah in collaboration with the University of Muhammadiyah Jakarta focused in the attempt to find such contributions. Seminar with the theme "Re-actualizing of Muhammadiyah Da’wah Fiqih in the Middle of Religious Plurality Movement" held on May 12th, 2015 at Post-Graduate Building of University of Muhammadiyah Jakarta would discuss the Muhammadiyah important position in the center of such geopolitical-economic challenges.
"The purpose of this seminar is to map the global economic-geopolitical issues and the birth and the development of Islamic religious movements at regional and transnational. Then to dig up the treasures and the archipelago Islamic perspective and its forecast for the advanced and meaningful world development, and to formulate the models of Muhammadiyah da’wah fiqh in the context of global geopolitical-economic and plurality of religious movements," said Agung Danarto,the General Secretary of Muhammadiyah Central Executive, on the sidelines of a visit to the Palace of the Vice President of Republic Indonesia, Tuesday (12/5).
He added that thisseminar served as an arena that also discussed current issues and provided solutions to the community problems. "This seminar is expected to solve the problems of national contemporary and universal humanity," he concluded. (FSandiah)
