Semarang – To start the chain events for pre-47^th Mukmatar Muhammadiyah that would be held on August 3-7 2015 in Makassar and the 16^th Anniversary of Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang (Unimus), they held the 12^th seminar events for pre-Muktamar Muktamar with the theme of “Kebijakan Publik untuk Kesejahteraan Rakyat” (Public Policy for People Welfare).

The Seminar that was opened by the Chairman of PP Muhammadiyah, Ahmad Dahlan Rais, was also attended by education institution of PTN/PTS/PTM in Central Java, Muhammadiyah Provincial Executive (Pimpinan Wilayah Muhammadiyah/PWM) of Central Java, Muhammadiyah Regional Executive (Pimpinan Daerah Muhammadiyah/PDM) of Central Java, Muhammadiyah District Executive (Pimpinan Cabang Muhammadiyah/PCM) of Semarang, Muhammadiyah Autonomous Organization, Government Institutions such as Majelis Agama Konghuchu, Dinas Sosial Pemuda dan Olahraga, Dinas Kesehatan Kota Semarang, Lembaga Pembinaan dan Perlindungan Konsumen (LP2K) Jawa Tengah, the board of directors of Unimus and academicians of Unimus.

The seminar was divided into two session, for the first session the material presentation was delivered by Djoko Hartono W (Vice-Rector III of Unimus) with the topic “Kebijakan Publik untuk Kesejahteraan Rakyat dan Peran Advokasi Muhammadiyah Perspektif Ekonomi” (Public Policy for People Welfare and Muhammadiyah Advocacy Role in Economic Perspective) and the second material was delivered by Bahtiar Effendy (the Dean of FISIP UIN Jakarta) with the topic “Kebijakan Publik untuk Kesejahteraan Rakyat dan Peran Advokasi Muhammadiyah Perspektif Politik” (Public Policy for People Welfare and Muhammadiyah Advocacy Role in Political Perspective). Bagus Irawan played the moderator role in this session.

Edy Wuryanto was the moderator for the second session. As the keynote speaker, Muhadjir Effendy (Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang) discussed about “Model dan Strategi Gerakan Muhammadiyah dalam Proses Penentuan Kebijakan Publik” (Model and Strategy of Muhammadiyah Movement in the Process of Public Policy Making) and the second topic was delivered by Rozihan (Vice-Chairman of PWM Central Java) on “Kebijakan Publik untuk Kesejahteraan Rakyat: Mengapa Sering Tidak Seirama? (Perspektif Politik)” (Public Policy for People Welfare: Why often Inharmonic? (Political Perspective)).

In general, the topics being discussed in the seminar was about public policy and the role that could be given by Muhammadiyah as an organization that could take an active role in the development of Indonesia. Muhammadiyah had been playing its role in education and health sector, and in the future Muhammadiyah was expected to play a more significant role in decision making and public policy making for the sake of the development of the country.

Besides pre-Muktamar Muhammadiyah seminar events, Unimus also planned two another chain events, which were mass circumcisions (khitanan massal) and healthy walk event as well as medical check-up event.
