Muhammadiyah Pangkep utilizes waste as livestock food

Pangkajene Kepulauan-Public Empowerment Council (MPM) of Muhammadiyah Pangkep develops integrated agriculture based on public empowerment, cooperating with hospitals, private companies, and local government by doing waste pocessing system of warung makan (food stall) that is changed into organic fertilizer and animal food. That was stated by Ir.Zulkifli, the chairman of MPM Muhammadiyah Pangkep on Thursday ( 06/10/2011) at secretariat office of Muhammadiyah Pangkep Sibatuah.

Husni Yunus, the chairman of MPM Muhammadiyah Sulsel, welcomes the initiator from MPM Muhammadiyah Pangkep. He said this will be mutually advantageous, and of course it becomes a proof about the role of Muhammadiyah in building partnership in the field of agriculture.  “Of course this cooperation will eventually give extraordinary benefit for farmers who do not get enough attention in developing public economy. Besides, by cooperating with hospitals, it will increase health quality of society, especially the farmers who live very simple lives without thinking nutrient consumption for their body.

Zulkifli, the chairman of MPM Pangkep, said by this cooperation program MPM could give direct education to the farmers by giving training in making organic fertilizer and animal food that utilizes the waste of hospital and food stall. It will be beneficial in fulfilling fertilizer for rice field and fish pond.
