Karanganyar – According to LPB (Disaster Control Institution) Secretary of Central Java, Kiki Ahmad Harmoko, developing SAR (Search and Rescue) team in Central Java has long been pioneered. Even, the team has been employed during Mount Merapi eruption in 2010, flood in Garut in the beginning of May 2011, and poisonous gas crisis of Mount Dieng at the end of May 2011. As the continuation of education, LPB Central Java has also scheduled continued training in the form of Post Training and Training for Trainers. The training will be done in Januari and April 2012. "We have even planned 6 batches until 2016," said he at PP Muhammadiyah building in Yogyakarta on Monday (24/10/2011).
From October 12 to 16 2011, LPB Muhammadiyah Central Java did training and education of SAR for mid level on the slope of Mount Lawu in Karanganyar region. The event opened at the the building of Muhammadiyah Regional Executive is the continuation of basic training that was done on June 2012.
The training commanded by the Chairman of LPB Central Java, Naibul Umam, teaches some materials such as Self Rescue, Rope skill and installation, Orienteering and Global Position System, Fist Aid and Mountain Rescue Explorer, SAR and Jungle survival. Besides those materials, Islamic materials such as Islam and worshipping, aqidah, and basic principles of Muhammadiyah organization are also given.
Interestingly, the participants are mostly SMA students around Central Java. They are very enthusiastic in the training whose instructors are from SAR groups and Mapala in Central Java. Besides, on the slope of Mount Lawu whose temperature almost reaches zero degree in the night, the participants' mental and spiritual is trained by doing tahajud prayer.
