Malang- Approaching to the completion of physical building of Muhammadiyah University of Malang (UMM) Hospital, Rector Muhadjir Effendy will add reference on managing concept of Teaching Hospital. This time the rector, together with two UMM staff members, dr Tantowi Jauhari, M.Kes and Ir. Ali Syaifullah, MT, will leave for Switzerland in the beginning of next month.

According to the agenda released by rector secretariat, the rector will leave by the end of this week to fulfill the invitation from International and Foreign Language Education (IFLE), Education Department of USA. UMM rector, along with some rectors of state and private universiites in Indonesia, will accompany National Education Minister M. Nuh to take part in U.S. Indonesia Higher Education Summit in the USA on October 31. The meeting is the result of cooperation between Indonesian and the USA government.

“The meeting will be started with the greeting from US Educational Secretary and National Education Minister of Indonesia, followed by the presentation of research innovation, community colleges, teaching preparation and higher educational system." That is written in email sent by IFLE to rector secretariat.

After attending the meeting in the USA, Muhadjir leaves for Switzerland. He will meet Ali in Zurich who will go directly from Indonesia. Muhadjir is scheduled to be the preacher of idul Adha prayer in Bern on November 6, upon an invitation from Indonesia Ambassador for Switzerland, Djoko Susilo.  

The visit to University Hospital Zurich will last from November 7 to 8. At the hospital, the troupe from UMM will dig information and see directly the management of 42 specialized clinics owned by the hospital.

As already known, the construction of UMM hospital is almost finished. Its physical building has reached 80%. Even for the building for class III assisted by provincial government and Health Ministry of Indonesia has been completely finished.

The hospital located on Jl. Raya Tlogomas has the service concept of east and west. The concept is also implemented in the form of hospital building with modern and oriental look. While east medication refers to Islam and China, west medication refers to modern medication. To support the concept, UMM hospital is planned to have traditional and modern medical research.
