Jakarta- Students of PAUD (Early Age Education) of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at the University of Muhammadiyah Prof. DR. HAMKA (UHAMKA) participated in the event of Plangi Archipelago Fest 2011 by performing national dances. The event taking place at the Plaza Semanggi, Balai Sarbini, Jakarta on October 29, 2011 was very cheerful. The visitors were very enthusiastic and intersted in watching the dances. During the event, UHAMKA students performed dances from Java, Batak, Bali, Kalimantan and Papua. The dances were performed in medley.
Before performing the national dances, the festival committee gave a chance to UHAMKA represented by the Department Head of Public Relation and Cooperation, Isti Nurrohmah, to present and introduce UHAMKA to the audience. Isti Nurrohmah talked about a short history of UHAMKA and introduced the faculties and departments at UHAMKA as well as its campus location.
The performance was ended with Youth Pledge Reading by one of the dancers, followed by the other dancers. There were 25 dancers from PAUD FKIP UHAMKA. During Plangi Archipelago Festival 2011, apart from performing national dances, UHAMKA also show photography exhibition. The pictures are the work of FISIP (Faculty of Social and Political Sciences). students. Pelangi Archipelago Festival 2011 lasts from October 7 to November 6, 2011 at the Plaza Semanggi, Balai Sarbini, Jakarta.
