Makassar- Public Empowerment Council of Muhammadiyah South Sulawesi (MPM Muhammadiyah Sulsel) will train 100 volunteers to be forestry counselors. The training is named Training and education for 4 Regions in South Sulawesi. This aims to increase the number of skillful and responsive Muhammadiyah cadres in preserving environment especially the forest which is the heart of envirnmental ecosystem.

 

That was stated by the Chairman of MPM Muhammadiyah Sulsel, Drs.HM.Husni Yunus,M.Pd, at MPM Sulsel's post, Rusunawa C Muhammadiyah University of Makassar campus, Jl.tala'salapang Makassar, Thursday ( 17/11/2011). According to Husni Yunus, the four regions are Palopo, Sidrap, Makassar and Bulukumba. The training will be done from November 21 - 26, 2011.

 

Husni says that the training is done to keep preserving forest resources by doing dakwah and empowering people living in the forest side. That is also a method of preventive measure from flood when the rainy season comes. The training involves the infrastructure existing in Muhammadiyah organization such as academicians and Mubaligh (Preacher) across South Sulawesi.
