Yogyakarta – Western stereotype on the Islamic law exhibits cruel and sadistic meaning. Theunderstanding they gain from media, books and writings that advocate against Islam. Yet, Islamic law is the law coming from Islamic values​​. It's important in straightening the understanding of those confused about Islamic law.

This was said byMuhammad Endrio Susilo, SH, MCL. Dean of Law Faculty of University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (FH-UMY) met after his return from the Charles Darwin University (CDU) Australia at the Integrated Campus UMY, last Saturday (12/10/2011).

Endrioexplained that Islamic law is not so well described by the sources. "We provide the real understanding to the Australian students of CDU that Islamic law in any country is not directly sentenced but following procedures in deciding the punishment for guilty," he said.

Further Endriomentioned that in addition to Islamic law, there was also some materials to teach. "In addition to Islamic law, we also provide other subjects of the banking law, constitutional in Islam, and other several subjects" he added. 

Similar with Endrio, Nasrullah, SH, S. Ag, MCL FH UMY lecturer added that the presentation of the materials used simple examples for them easily to understand. "Students’ thought we teach is more rational so as to instill an understanding to those people we provide examples and case studies form the comparable" he added.

Responding to materials and understanding which has been given, several students from CDU Australia will come to UMY to know more about Islam. Their arrival at UMY will be held in January 2012.
