PCIM Malaysia is preparing an empowering program for TKI (Indonesian Migrant Workers)

Kuala Lumpur- Special District Executive (PCM) of Muhammadiyah Malaysia based in Kuala Lumpur is planning to have an empowering program for Indonesian Migrant Workers (TKI) in Malaysia, especially in Kuala Lumpur.

That was stated by Public Empowering Council (MPM) PP Muhammadiyah, Bachtiar Dwi Kurniawan, after having the meeting with  PCM Kuala Lumpur in Gombak, KL, Malaysia, on Wednesday (14/12/2011). According to Bachtiar, TKI empowerment is important because most TKIs in Malaysia are still manual workers who cannot obtain maximum benefit. In the meantime, the secretary of PCIM Kuala Lumpur, Sulthon Kamal, says that PCIM has done some activities, such as training and pengajian (Islamic study). PCIM has a lot of members, including their family, who become active an active member of pengajian.

On the other side, the chairman of PCIM Malaysia, Arifin Ismail, says that in fact PCIM has done empowering works by doing entreprenerial training, etc. Indeed, there should be a program that can be evaluated later. Those who came in the meeting between PCIM Malaysia and MPM PP Muhammadiyah are Vice Chairman of PCIM Sony Zulhuda, The Treasurer of PCIM Harun, Advisory Board of PCIM Syamsuddin Arif, Nashrul Hakiem, Public Relation, Documentation, and Publication, the Chairman of MPM PP Muhammadiyah Said Tuhuleley, Vice Chairman Nurul Yamin, MPM Consultant Syafii Latuconsina, etc.
