Din Syamsuddin hopes UHAMKA graduates would be nation enlightenment

Yogyakarta - Chairman of the Central Executive of Muhammadiyah, Professor. Dr. Din Syamsuddin, MA affirmed the graduates of University of Muhammadiyah Prof. graduates. Dr. Hamka (UHAMKA) inaugurated can play their role as the Enlightener who are able to provide change for the people of Indonesia.

It was said by Din in his speech at the graduation ceremony of 2.280 magister, bachelor, and diploma of UHAMKA at Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) (17/12).

Added Din, Indonesian is currently facing very complex problems. The problem is not visible, but can be felt in the life of nation and state. "We are often fooled and impressed to run away from problems. Consequently it leads to buildup nation problems, "he said.

The problem faced by the nation is convoluted, Din assessed, it is a matter of moral illiteracy. Because actors of moral illiteracy are the elite and educated. As a result of this illiteracy, corruption is so rampant.

This moral illiteracy is more dangerous compared to other illiteracy. Due this moral illiteracy has been touched the elits and other educated people in this country,” explained Din.

Din expects that the UHAMKA graduates currently inaugurated must be able to contribute in giving enlightenment to the country. UHAMKA graduates have to exist with value, not only be master in one field, but also moral commitment, honesty, and justice. Thus, the graduates could benefit the country.

 “UHAMKA graduates have to play as arrow of nation enlightenment. Besides, they are to be arrows of nation civilization that could exist in developing the country,” said Din.

Din Syamsudin is proud of the achievement gained by UHAMKA. This achievement shows that UHAMKA could serve the best for the nation through education. 

Besides, Din hopes that the UHAMKA graduates who haven’t god any occupation could create ones, either for he himself or others. Din is also proud as spoken by the UHAMKA Rector, 60% of the graduates have been in work field.
